Sphere Packing

Aug 28, 2008 / Comments (2)

A couple of minutes took me switch the circles with spheres. This time when I saw the script few day after, I found a lot of bugs to slow down the whole process, so I decide to make the changes to get more speed.

here the images:

The first image has almost 10,000 iterations and the max radius was 500, the other ones are about 4,000 iterations and their radius about 50-100.

I was invited to participate in the number 15 of “Revista de Arquitectura” under the title “arquitectura como acción docente”, my text was take out from the X sigradi congress celebrated in Chile, Universidad de Chile (facultad de Arquitectura y Urbanismo).

In this congress I participate under the title “Evolutionary Algorithms as an innovative Design Model”, and is part of my phd, in G.A.

Thanks Pedro Soza R.
and all the people who make this publication reality.

After long time trying to achieve another level of analysis, finally we start to do it with SAP. An engineering software that help us to see reactions, deformations, geometry, supports, punctual charges and axial efforts.

To begin with the exercise we use an old project, OMRP project (nov07).

After the analysis we realize that we can disregard of two supports of the five that it had in the beginning. So we have to use only three. It was a great news for us. This is feedback!!.

Soon we will be still telling you something more.

Rethinking about the images (forms) we produce about organic growth structures, we found something interesting not only like image, because we did at first by script. But it was amazing to found something really interesting about the nuclear laboratories´ world exactly about the Artifitial Environments Laboratories.

It´s about the Z Machine, the largest X-ray generator in the world and is designed to test materials in conditions of extreme and pressure. Temperatures that exceeds two billion degrees kelvin, hotter than the interiors of stars.
